Thanks for the link. Looks very easy to do.
I find it interesting that they just say to inspect the 2 o-rings -- "...Two O-rings are present and free from dirt & grit." -- but nothing about lubing them. They keep water out of the rest of the head unit, so sort of important. The rest of the writeup sort of implies they are going in dry, so I guess no lube.
"The battery and bung assembly should enter the Control Pod easily without significant resistance.
The final 5mm of the battery assembly insertion may require additional force.
It is critical that the bung is positioned symmetrical into the handle. If the bung is asymmetrical, this may lead to water ingress!"
Anyone who works on waterproof detectors care to comment on "the usual procedure" for o-rings? In plumbing situations, it seems like they always call for a thin coating of silicone grease, and this seems like a similar situation...
