There was a town in the far north end of Dallas called Renner that was founded in the 1880s as a rail stop. I got permission from a small landowner to metal detect on his vacant lot but unfortunately, the previous owner had used it as a place to dump extra dirt and there were now two feet between the surface and the original layer. I found a single modern penny but have peace of mind knowing that I was able to search it.

I'm guessing that's where Renner Road got its name. As I have researched this area, it has become very apparent that many street names were taken from old towns and settlements.

Glad that you got permission.
