1927 GWAA Pin ??

1927 pin...I can't seem to find the organization that issued this pin/button. Looks like GWAA to me but I guess it could be CWAA. Logo seems like an Eagle with sun rays. Strange fastening stem on the the back. Maybe it slipped into a slot in a piece of leather. Dime size. Found in Northern Indiana. Marked 'Chicago' on the back with no other markings on the underside. Has anyone dug one of these or know the organization? Thanks

Maybe more of a rivet than a pin. I'm sure someone here has seen it. To me it almost looks like the Goodyear foot with wings instead of a bird

The button on the back may unscrew. Those type fasteners are called Chicago screws.

Goodyear does have a great logo; I don't see the shoe though. I bet you're right, Cliff. That makes sense and the size is right. I'll take a harder look at that interface. Thanks Guys.

What I found on GWAA is the Golf Writers Association of America and they do date back to 1927.

Thanks Cliff. Timeframe fits in. I also saw the Great War in Africa Association but they didn't start using that exact name until 2013. Certainly too new.
