Rebuilt Excal 1000

Nice job. Is the over/under any heavier on your shoulder compared to the behind the elbow long shaft? I've always used the long shaft but I do like the look of those over/unders. Just dont want to waste another 100$ to find out I don't like the weight difference, how do you like it?

What I've discovered is the behind the elbow setup works great hunting the dry to waist deep while using a long handled scoop. Very ergonomic and very little strain on the shoulder. I typically hunt in the 3-10' range and fan out my targets so having a shorter setup is easier to swing and the controlls are easier to adjust/get at if I'm toggling between Disc and PP.

The Xcal is a dive machine..... so the shorter shaft if you are using it like that makes sense. However, i use the longer shaft .....ive found keeping the tubes out of the water more helps keep down repairs.
