Found this odd threaded piece. Car part maybe? The ring around the top has a hole it should go through and hang from like a key chain, but I left it as I found it (not in the correct hole). Other item is some camp lead for fun. (probably homeless camp. Doubtful it's civil war)

that looks like the screw-top from a hot water bottle.

If that's not it, it's at least close. Would explain the key chain-type ring too.

The threads look similar to old type fuses and looks similar in size to a fuse, but it does not look like a fuse.

Idk anything about fuses, but I doubt that's it because of the hand-held thumb screw thing at the top and it's not real heavy duty.

Yep. Boat drain plug. I've sold hundreds of them over the last 40 years. The "threaded" looking part should be rubber and expands when the screw is tightened

No rubber on this thing. I just don't think it's durable enough for an application like that. Feels like if you try to tighten it down too much, you may break it.

The rubber dries out over time and gets hard and brittle. The disc on the bottom pulls up when tightened and expands the rubber keeping it in the drain hole.

The rubber on yours would crumble if you hit it with a hammer.

Soaked it in vinegar and it's solid brass all one piece. Starting to get some shine back. Can make out "Toronto Can, NY USA, Chicago USA" and some others going around the top of it.

I have searched lots of images and the only two things I can come up with are the hot water plug (the older ones were made of copper with a brass plug) or a sink drain plug. Sorry no images or links to back it up with though.

Sorry left out bottle. I was talking about a hot water bottle plug and a sink drain plug.
