My drone went down out behind my property. I live on 2 acres and my back property line is about 150 feet behind my house. My property is surrounded by cow fields. About 200 feet behind my back property line is a creek. I have always wondered what it was like down there so I figured this was a perfect time to check it out. As I approached the creek, I came upon a bunch of bottles, very spread out in a low area. I’m pretty sure I discovered the garbage dump for my house. It’s an old farmhouse that was built in 1925, when this was all orange groves. I scored a really sweet milk bottle and a round bottom bottle, a few moonshine jugs, and some cool jars. There were obviously a lot more bottles in the ground. It’s a spot that I will be able to go back to over and over again.

Nice! Those milks with the big 5 cents on 'em are called Store Bottles. Looks like that one is 1949 I see the date code. Nice to find. Those green juice bottles we call refrigerator bottles because people drank the juice then kept water in 'em after that. I have found those green round bottom Wine bottles. But--what on earth are the last two pics. lol?

Thanks. The water, juice thing I couldn’t figure out. That’s pretty clever.

Nice finds!

Have found those quart jars with the grid design (fourth picture) but no brand name and wondered what they were for.

Somebody told me they were canning jars, but then I found this online. Maybe the company stopped embossing bottles to save money, like Coke did.

Yes those gridded canning jars are regularly found but that one with the embossing is not common at all! At least in my neck o'the woods!

Nice discovery Scoundrel! Some good keepers already. Those waffle grid jars I have been told, were usually coffee jars. A local vintage/antique shop has sold several in the last few years for ~$5 to $8 each.

You be setting up a table at local bottle shows to sell off some of the ones you don’t care to hang onto.

Neat photo of the spider’s web !
