Found at spot in the middle of a pasture where there was a house in the early 1900's. Nothing left but some rock walls.

Heavy cast iron. Has anybody ever seen one like it?

That's unique. Based on the groove on the top, it looks like it was meant to hold something up. Like the base of some appliance or decoration or something.

That is a great and unique find. Maybe incense went on the top or a little iron person riding the elephant. The elephant is a sign of fortune and good luck. I’d go back to that spot again.

I was able to pry it apart just far enough to get a small, thin screwdriver in it and break up all the packed in dirt. But nothing but dirt. I don't think it ever was a coin bank.

Very cool pachyderm. I collect elephant things. If you don't have an attachment to it, I'd love to buy it off you. Sent you a PM. Thanks.

Nice elephant bank that you found. Last year I found a small elephant in an old park. It looks like it was a homemade thing...….very plain. It's toward the right hand side of the picture.
