I was looking for bottles in a local creek when I picked this up. I thought "Wow, those Lepiondrendon guys of the forum are gonna go nuts over this." Actually I did not know that it was actually an ancient fossil from a plant that went extinct millions of years ago. I though that it was a piece of brick mortar. I was about to smash it on some rocks just to see if it broke apart like brick mortar.
Awesome so go ahead post your Lepiondrendon finds

We have a petrified forest near Santa Rosa ,Ca. About 5 miles toward Mt. St. Helena. You have to pay to see it. The trees are all blasted away from the mountain and there is layers of ancient ash in our area. Possible old meteor hit? No volcanoes nearby.
