Who knew that dinosaurs used coins.
This coin is 180 million years old.
It is exactly the size of a silver dollar.
Found it a few weeks ago. 😁

OK, but now the age-old question.

How did they know to put a "B.C." notation on it? Were the minters from the future?

Yes, probably alien time travelers attempting to civilize dinosaurs and stop the Rex from eating anything that moved.

LOL You probably got really excited when you first saw that dollar size silverish coin pop out of the hole, and then you probably said something like "what the".... I've been watching the Hoover Boys Metal Detecting videos on You Tube and they got me calling those finds "Bazingas"

Plus it is an error coin.
That is actually an Apatosaurus, Brontosaurus is the more popular name but in paleontology for decades now there was no such thing.

However...
For fans of Brontosaurus there may be hope.

Much of paleontology theory is just a work in progress, as more data becomes available things change.

And it accurately predicted the coming of Christ (BC), too! Whew..> That's quite a coin!

LOL

Seriously, your post made me laugh!! :)

I'm gonna "stick my neck out" here and say that B.C. actually means "before coins" and that that is actually a fossilized pancake.

But look at it this way, we both have the oldest coins ever found.

What’s on the back of those?

This is what the back of mine looks like. Has a date of 1988. Its light. Probably aluminum.
