Found a few relics today at a desert railroad stop. The kerosene lantern has a patent applied date from 1883.
The button says Strong Hold on it.
Also a ladies sachet, half of a heart & a small buckle.

wherever old lantern parts can be found , a seated can be lurking nearby :cool3:

We have a few rail-trails around here where more ruins can be found in the surrounding woods than in most places in these parts. I have in mind to throw my new Tesoro in a backpack and cruise it on a bicycle looking g for stuff. I think the trains starting running there in the 1870s. Already you can find some interesting relics without a metal detector. The Pittsburgh rail trails are frequented by many for exercise and leisure. One of them extends about 30 miles from Freeport to Butler and is more rural than the examples in the city.
