Went back to the lake bed today, wore the cold weather rain gear, supposed to snow... second, third, fourth, fifth targets all silvers! 1954 D Wash, 1964 D Wash, 1953 D Franklin 1/2 (my first silver half!), then a 1964 D Rosie...all found one after the other within a 2’ area - will call it a spill

Couldn’t find anything else for an hour, then got a 1944 S wheat cent... and to top it all off, got me a marble! I did find another narrow gauge RR spike, well most of one, and part of an old 7-up bottle I thought was neat. Maybe I’ll try and cut it flush some day with the wet saw.

Quite a cold muddy mess, but one of the best hunts I’ve ever had. Only hailed on me too, so wasn’t bad!

Looks like fun! A Ben Franklin half was one of my two bucket listers last year. Still looking!

Thanks ToySoldier! It was pretty crazy, boom boom boom boom! I have A LOT of bucketlisters... seated, barber, silver thimble, gun (preferable a 1911 I can get back to working condition ), lead soldier(s), wings.... etc...

I like the coins in-situ in the clod pix.

And the item to the left of the 7-up bottle, bottom of that pix, appears to be an opium pipe end-part. Here's some examples of complete pipes :

Whoa thanks Tom, I had no idea, figured it was a pot pipe and probably would have chucked it! Now I’ll add it to my display of finds from this spot, very cool, super appreciated. Glad you liked the pics :)

Way to go GS! Nothing like finding the bigger silvers. All I’ve been finding lately is dimes. Congrats on the benji! I’m still looking for one of those.

Nice hunt. Love the fresh dug silver pics. Just adds to the story telling me your actually digging them. Thanks for doing that.

WOW !! Fantastic finds , photo's and play by play . I wish I was still studly enough to swing a big coil like that ! It doesn't seem like that long ago that I could swing a WOT
coil for a nice long hunt . Congrats and keep up the great hunting !

Thank you! I don’t find the goods very often so I like to take pics! Glad you like ‘em :)

Thanks Toad! Dimes are the majority of what I find, this was a rare day indeed for me.

Thank you Sir! It’s gotten harder to swing the 15 for long periods since I tweaked my arm while carrying bundles of shingles up to my roof this past summer. Ouch. Mud was building up on the bottom of the coil too not helping
