I have been trying to get the tones and settings down on my recently acquired explorer 2. I think that I may have taken a step in the right direction. Here are a few wheaties and a 1903 quarter that I found tonight in the dark in my back yard. It gets dark way too early so I made the best of it with these and some clad.

Nice job on the barber quarter.:clapping: Mine is still buried in the ground waiting to be found.

Your first quarter!!! In your backyard!!!
I’ve been looking for that Quarter for 5 years. Got the dime. Got the Half. Can’t find that elusive Quarter. Ugggh
Congratulations on that beauty!!!

Congratz on the silver quarter. But you cheated: You were supposed to pay your obligatory dues, and get a Washington first, BEFORE a barber, haha.

Pretty soon, the explorer fluty tones will sing to you. Soon it will be seateds. Then busts, then gold coins, etc..... Within a few years: Any gold coin newer than 1900 will bore you to tears !

Nice going on your Barber Quarter ! The Explorer 2 rocks ! Mine's on its last legs and they are no longer making parts for it . I'm going to miss it when it's gone . It will most likely be the last Minelab for me .

I have several rods but the Explorer 2 is my “go-2” machine. You’re going to love it.
Congrats on the haircut!

That is an awesome hunt! Can't believe your ground isn't frozen. The explorer line is by far my favorite. Its almost like cheating... Nice work!

A very well done. It was a long time before I had the pleasure seeing one of those beauties come to the surface. Big CONGRATS!!!:dingding::clapping::clapping:

Just bought a exp II as well and installed the sunray probe and 13 ultimate. I can’t wait to use it this spring!! Congrats again and best of luck

Thanks! The ground is fairly soft this weekend, except for a few spots that are shaded. The rain today helped with that. Last weekend it was a bit more solid.
I am finding the explorer has a learning curve that my Garrett had not exposed me to. I am getting the hang of it. The coins were deep too. Picked up a few more Wheaties today and scanned the entire back yard. I am amazed at was is underground here since the house isn't that old. It was built in 1952.
