Hello:
I found these 10 bullets at a site in which I found a mid 1800's coin and some 1915-1920 coins. This Texas town was started in 1820 ish. These 10 bullets have characteristics of a minie ball....or so my online research says. Hollow base, iron plug?? The problem is...most of the ones that I have seen online have three rings (or grooves) and these appear to have 1 (unless squished by ground on all 10.) Also, they have a flat nose (squished by ground?) The base measures .516 inches to .523 inches on all except one. It was .561 but may have been deformed. This was NOT a battle site but could have seen union soldiers during reconstruction.
