I went back to the volcanic lake again today to finish and probably move on to another lake or the sea next time. I dont usually find 14k here as mostly its 18k but who is complaining. Mr.Totem likes It! 4 silver 1250 lira, a Russian Coin, 9 euro and possibly a "Soldo" coined in the 12 century and after. Got to do some more research on It. Inside the wedding band reads "Panic Panther 23 4 93/8 5 93". Very strange! Thanks for looking HH and GL.

:dingding: Mr. Totem is a little unhappy at only 1 gold ring but he'll take it it seems! A medieval coin is a super cool find!

I wonder if the numbers in Panic Panther 23 4 93/8 5 93 represent Dates perhaps the day they met and the day they married?

4/23/1993 and 5/8/1993 ?

anyways love the Finds !!

Good morning from over the pond.

The only reference I can see on our data-base to a 'soldo' is in this link:

Hello Doug! More like Good morning from across the English channel no? Thanks for the extra info my friend. The "soldo" is not going to be easy to exactly identify the date but I have a general idea it's ok. It was somewhat of a surprise finding it because I was just looking for gold but maybe one day soon I'll find something there even older. There is a ancient Roman temple about 2 or 3 kilometeres away in the hills.;)

Good morning from 'just' over the water...;)

I did wonder why you had found a variety on non US coins but at the same time I failed to see that you are in Italy.

We do find Soldinios also known as the galyhalpens (galley-halfpence) as it was brought by the annual Venetian trading fleets here in the UK.

HH........Doug.

Yeah much closer than you thought huh? Been here for while. I saw some of your posts a while back on here and got nostalgic again with land detecting. I only do water mostly now as the laws here aren't as kind to us hunters as where you are.
Didn't know soldinios were called galyhalpens. Thanks for bringing me up to speed on those.
