Strange yellow metal find

Okay, now that I’ve plucked up the nerve to join one of these forums. Can I have some help to I.d. A beach find that I’ve had for ages. I have no idea what it could be the folks at treasure trove have tentatively suggested the holes may be for straps but they would like to see it after the Covid thing has moved on. So any ideas would be appreciated I can say it feels heavier than it appears...
