Hi found this button on a beach in Ayrshire. I believe it may be militia or volunteer can anyone help to identify it? Face has a crown over a fleur de lis and the letters “E.R.V.T (last figure could be number 1 or even letter I. Reverse or inside says “Edinburgh” and “J McG” since it’s black I’m suspecting it may be silver...

Where is this place???
Sounds maybe to be in UK.

Please edit your Profile Location for at least what country you are in.

There is a crown at the top. Style is a key (who's crown).
Not sure what is in the middle, almost looks like a crown.

What is the size (diameter)??

Anything I can find similar-ish is pointing to a Welsh military button. The three feathers sticking out of the crown belongs to their prince. I have not yet found a total match, but the Edinburgh should be town of manufacture.

I was finding same thing and gave up
