Default Lord of the Ring.

Found this large heavy iron ring. 3 days of electrolysis and some heavy duty work with a sander and a wire wheel before baking at 400* for an hour before spraying with a sealant, now leaves me with the question, “WHAT WAS THIS?”

Any ideas?

Harness ring from a draft horse? Or maybe an elephant?

I have a couple just like that on the side of an antique mantle clock. One of mine is missing the ring.
