today I decided to go to a local park I have hunted before with the objective of digging only low tones and foil signals as I have heard that this is where the gold is within a half hour of digging can slaw and pull tabs I got a 4 on the nox in park one and saw this pop out  piece of a broken chain, looked for the rest of it to no avail. who would of thunk it 3.7 grams of 14k 101.29 dollars at todays melt ,I think im going to start digging more foil signals.

Congrats! That is awesome!

I have yet to dig anything gold. It's always been foil in the gold range for me! [emoji1]

Fi-ga-ro! Fi-ga-ro! Fi-ga-ro!

Bravo [emoji122]!

Bet the lawnmower dispersed the rest of it, I would grid the whole area, the rest very well could be there. Who knows, maybe a pendant too. Congrats!

That’s a sweet score there, not an easy or either! Congrats!

I used to solely use a Compadre, and I never feared missing gold. Today I mostly use my Nox. I’ve turned into a “high tones drifter” when dirt hunting and man, not the way to go if you want the gold.

Last dirt precious metal found by my Nox was a solid 7 ID, platinum ring, from a park I was exclusively hunting for gold jewelry.

It would be hard to beat a Compadre for park gold.

I was looking at US gold coins and the Nox, saw a chart that showed them ID’ing in ranges I wouldn’t normally dig (16 and 18)

US Gold $1 (1853 Type 1) VDI 12
US Gold $1 (1874 Type 3) VDI 11
US Gold $2.50 (1907) VDI 16
US Gold $5.00 (1901) VDI 18
US Gold $10.00 (1903) VDI 21

And I tested a few gold rings (found by my Compadres) and the ranges are wide!

As Mud says, gold is a cruel mistress!
