Today was a good day

Went to an old field I've visited before. We didn't find anything older then early 1600 at the time.

I know older finds are possible there. So I had a go.

I don't know the weather in the States atm, but here in Holland it's pretty bad !!!!!!.

But that didn't stop me. Did a hunt for 2 hours.

And I found my second bead!!
This one is even older. Determinated as Celtic. That means plusminus 2500 years old.

O M G !!

Took a nice hot shower, and now even while typing this, I can't realise.

But the fun didn't end. Found my smallest object ever. And it's made of silver.

So tiny. My detector was screaming. The pinpointer had some trouble finding it.

Thanks. I get really nervous if I can't get out. It's raining since Saturday here.

And I know that I can find cool stuff on some fields were I have permission.

I'm only not detecting when the ground is frozen. And even then I try..

No. Made of glass. There eyefinds. Just spotted them on the surface, while detecting the soil.

In Holland u can pick up all kinds of stuff, that aren't made of metal and still very old. In the field, or on old riverbanks.

It's a bit like "mudlarking". Only I combine that together.

Hi Harold.
The way you hunt in the mud reminds us over here of one of our finest. We call him MUD PUPPY. That guy is always in the dirt, no matter how cold it is. Do you hunt in snow piles like Mud Puppy does ?
You are so lucky to be able to find things that are very old.
