WW2 Find

Found on a house permission. Owner told me his father was in WW2 in Italy and brought this along with other war souvenirs home. After a bit of google fu, it is a 1939 War Merit award second class. Always makes me happy to return finds to the owners!

This is the one that many people get confused with the Iron Cross, saying that it was given out like cornflakes toys.
Might be too late for you if yo have already returned it, but there may have been a small number stamped on the suspension ring, this is the maker number (they were not always numbered though). Nice find.
