The new C-Scopes have started to arrive. First the CS4PI a variable frequency pulse machine aimed at on beach use only. Rain, but not waterproof. Nice style/design and the performance seems a little above that of the Whites P.I. as should be expected as it has a bigger coil.
Main advantage is cost (in the U.K.£259 sterling) but its got to be a mistake not to have made it waterproof enough to go wading so I can't see it affecting sales of the proven Whites P.I.
With the strange marketing methods being used today its a great buy if you also want the new CS3MX, a single frequency (17khz) switch on and go, no frills machine. Instead of paying £518 for the pair, if you buy them together they only cost £399. Problem is the 3MX is really basic (no meter, fixed ground exclusion) so many will already have a better machine.
Still no sign of the CS8PI. Lets hope its a little more revolutionary than these first two offerings.
