I might as well get the thread started. Back in 1974 I was helping tear down a burnt house and started finding hundreds of quarters. It seemed the woman who had lived there collected them and had the in a dresser next to a wall that collasped when the house burned spreading the coins accross two rooms. I was bent over picking coins and not paying attention and bumped heads with my partner who was working his way in from the other room, we almost knocked each other out! The fire had burned so hot that some of the coins were actually melted together. We ended trading them for tools and work cloaths at a local store because the bank wouldn't take them. I wish I had kept them now just for the silver content if nothing else. I was young and didn't even think of the numistic value of them. live and learn. Cladius.
