Porch Gold Return!

This has got to be one of my favorite stories on the forum. I have read it a few times and crack up every time. Thanks for this write up and the pictures make it that much better.

Back in the glory days here in Virginia Beach, one of the best places to hunt was under the Pier. Ocean Eddies was a popular night spot on the pier and before they remodeled, the wood slat floor had spaces between the boards. High tide ran under it, but it was wet sand at low tide. Drunks would walk in, see a good looking lady and drop their wedding bands while fumbling to inconspicuously remove them.

Great story, Mud, KT enjoyed it! Brought back this memory, way back in 1988, the Royal family visited the south island of Japan and stayed with a Japanese family for a month. This was before KT became interested in MDing and associated hobbies. One day we all piled into their van and went on a local sightseeing tour. One of the places we visited was a 15th Century Castle. It was full of that Period relics...samuri suits and swords, scenes of daily life, etc. The last thing we did was climb the internal stairs to the tiptop and look out the uppermost window for a view of the countryside. After reaching the main level, we started down the exterior stairs and what did KT see near the bottom of the stairs......a full gold upper plate just laying there. He picked it up and looked up and it was pretty much in line with that little window! KT brought it back to America and melted it down...18K gold, sold that nice button for several hundred dollars! So you never know when someone will accidentally spit out their teeth!:laughing:
