Hunted a small park called Dun woody. Named after Steve dunwoody who saved a girl from Drowning in the river years ago. Use to be shacks down here where they would harvest ice from the river. Snagged a 1919 wheat,1893 Barber Q.
This cat was tagging along most of the hunt too.
Happy Hunting.

Nice finds, that medallion is really cool! I've had a few cats hang out with me for a while while detecting, they sure can be curious at times!

Beautiful barber, and nice old wheat. Congrats! The audition medallion thing looks cool too. Sounds like a interesting location. The cat, I think it wants to eat you, watch your back!

Nice Barber, congrats!

Thank you.

Thank you! Lol! That cat was eyeballing me! Nom nom

Dun Woody rings a bell with me. I must have looked at it back when I lived in IL. Nice work finding those there. And interesting idea to search for ice harvesting camps.

I grew up in northern IL and although I knew they carved ice blocks from the rivers, I never thought to search for the camps.

Sweet Barber quarter, Congrats! Being followed by the cat is pretty neat, I’ve had a couple of dogs follow me before but never a cat.

Thank you.

Congrats with that Barber 25 cent piece!

Thank you.

Thank you. The local historical society gave me the info on this place having this camp for ice harvesting.

Cool finds. Love the Barber! Thanks for the backstory on the place. I really appreciate when people share the type areas they are hunting.
