I found this yesterday in an old part of town about 4 inches deep near the curb. I am going to take it to our Historical Society later today to see what they know. Any Ideas?
As a retired firefighter, I can say that it could have been a FD tie tack. We wore dress uniforms, with a tie.....Possibly a department specific item or an award. I believe this award began in 2006 (or so). It's been 14 years since it's inception, so who knows, Cfmct may be right. Just putting a little spin on it.... https://www.everyonegoeshome.com/ne...one-goes-home-program/seal-excellence-awards/

Thanks for the information guys. I took it to our local Historic society yesterday and gave them the pictures. I plan to go to our local fire department this week and see if I can find out anything there, also would like to thank you medicchief for your service to the community. We all count on you guys( and gals) to be there for us.
