Howdy! Been a while since I was on here. In fact I forget what my user name was.

Anyhow, I am now retired and wishing to get back to metal detecting. Haven't picked up the machine in a bout 1 1/2 years.

I have a Garret AT Pro and the Garret Carrot.

Congrats on your retirement. I retired 8 years ago after working 46 years, 32 with BellSouth/AT&T.

You probably have found there is an adjustment period you have to go through from living a life controlled by others, schedules, clocks, objectives, etc. This is a major life change that often is traumatic to many people. Some people endure anxiety, depression and lose sleep and appetite over it. Sometimes professional help is necessary.

I personally suffered from this adjustment period. I was confused and unsure what I needed to do. Luckily I was able to work through my issues and was able to adjust to my new life of freedom and control.

It was a tough 20 minutes.
