I have a Sunray X-8 that has a bad spot about 2” from the connector that goes to the machine. This is an FBS model. Anyone fixing them? Thanks!

If you do a simple splice, I would do an offset pattern, solder joints with small heat shrink. It won't be pretty, but it will work well for you.
