I am looking for a good detector for finding gold nuggets and gold flakes, and would like to try a little prospecting this spring. Does any body have any experience in this area. What detetors would you recommend?
I've never used a detector to find gold. But I'm planning on doing just that this June. I've been doing research and for gold flakes (small) I've heard the Fisher Gold Bug II is good. I've also heard the Tesoro Lobo Super Traq is an excellent machine as well. Personally I'm planning on using a White's MXT for nugget shooting. Many people have said it's an excellent machine for this and I've seen some pretty good finds with it.
