After about 30mins of hunting Saturday I found this about 7 inches deep.
I tried to keep on hunting but couldn't concentrate with this in my pocket.
Took it down to the local jewelry shop to get it looked at. its cubic z
and a sterling ring. bummer. vdi rang up as a solid 48.

That's a super nice ring you got there! Plus you got a really big thrill out of it when you first found it.

Exact same thing happened to me last month
- ring looked very similar
- stone same shape
- sterling band
- couldn't hunt with it in my pocket
- went to the jeweler right away
- same conclusion stone was CZ

I can't believe a silver ring came up in the gold range?!?! Most the silver rings I've found were around dime/quarter signals. Congrats still a nice old sterling piece!

Well, what more do you want,. After all, you found it in the dirt. It could have been a pull tab or a warsher. Take them to the shop and watch them laugh.
I still think it will clean up very nice. It will look good. Nice find.. KEN
