I detected for a couple hours this evening and had some first finds and my oldest coin. I found my first piece of jewelry and my first buckle. I also found my oldest coin so far; a 1940 nickel. My wife is also new to detecting and she found her first nickel today it was a 1983 (not pictured). We’re both looking forward to getting out again tomorrow!

Nice mixed bag of goodies there. Before long, you'll have lots of jewelry odds and ends. Those early Jefferson nickels don't show up too often. Heck, if you're both digging nickels, you're doing something right!

Nice finds! I like the shamrock :) A buckle, treasure and your oldest coin sounds like a great hunt!
