My son and I had a good short afternoon hunt yesterday. Found more minie balls.

I love seeing you young people coming into the hobby. And with nice finds like that I would bet you are hooked.

Nope. I put the calipers on em today... They're all .58 cal. The one does look bigger in the picture but it's the same caliber as the others.

Well you are in a good area to find that and just about any thing else. Just think, all of what you have found so far would be most likely associated with the Battle of the Wilderness, with the Battle of Chancellorsville a close second. I hope you and your son can find a lot more goodies.

Civil War relics, like you've found, are intriguing recoveries. Way to go!

It's great that you and your son can enjoy the hobby side-by-side. I feel that metal detecting with my family members is pretty special. (Most often, my detecting partner is my brother, known here on FMDF as "Wolf-Dog.") The memories we make together will, in the end, be of more value than our finds. :) Keep up the good work, and please keep us posted on your adventures!

P.S. I love the verses in your signature! When I graduated from high school last year, that was the Scripture I used on my announcements. I believe that the choice to place one's trust in the Lord is the most important decision any of us can make! So thanks for sharing that.
