This is a coin a friend has and asked me about. It’s a British straits settlements copper one cent queen victoria. I’ve never seen a coin like this. The reverse side is mirror image of the face, but it is indented not raised like the face. Some how I didn’t get a pic of the back side. Had any one heard of anything like this?

That sounds like a brockage, where a coin gets stuck in the press, so that the next coin has one side normal, and the other side the inverse of the normal side that is facing up from the coin that is stuck. I would have to see a photo of the other side.

The coin isn't as hard as the die, so the side struck by the stuck coin might look a little "mushy".
