So I found this at a park near me where we've found a couple of old coins and buttons.

This is made of iron and at first I thought it was part of a horseshoe, but it's not "broken" it doesn't look like to me.

Any thoughts, or is my gut reaction correct?

I have no definitive ID for you, but I will say that I have 2 buckets so far of “interesting iron pieces” I’ve found that I’ll probably never know the story or use of. It seems that partial iron pieces are tough to ID unless they come from a specific historical site, and then I feel most ID’s on iron scape are speculative at best.

I don’t get a lot of positive ID’s on stuff I post here but
I find solace in the fact that I found something cool.
That’s all I need to keep looking and having fun

Sort of looks like part of a car brake assembly.
