This is a no brainer, non-topic. FILL YOUR HOLES EVERY TIME, dirt, beach, dry, wet, it doesn't matter. We are limited in what we do by how the public perceives us. Injuries aside (or groin injuries as mud-puppy mentioned
) the public has a lot of sway in our hobby. If I leave the beach like a warzone someone is going to think I'm a jerk for ruining their beach and making it ugly. The lifeguards will call you out, a beach goer will call you out, the mayors wife will call you out, and eventually metal detecting will not be allowed or certainly be frowned on.
We should be friendly to those who ask us what we find, we should dig the garbage and toss it in the trash can, and make the beach nicer than we found it. Promote the hobby, don't trash it.
Yes, I always do my part to pick up plastic and garbage as I walk by it. And I dig 90% of the targets with my nox. The 10% I don't is because I'm too tired at the end of the hunt.
