I was heading towards the area where I had been having such success curb strip hunting when I was passing an old church when something (somebody) told me to pull over.
I wS about 2 blocks from the area of my last 2 curb strip hunts where I found a big silver ring and a railroad conductor’s hat badge on the first hunt and a solid sterling man’s belt buckle on the second.
I looked at the curbstrips in front of the church and these wasn’t anything to hunt. Except for a thin strip of dead vegetation about an inch wide it had been completely paved. But there was a nice curb strip around the parking lot across the street.
Immediately I realized I had found a bottle cap bonanzas the strip was full of them. Soon my finds pouch was half full. But I also found a few coins, mostly pennies, including a ‘46 wheat.
There was good sized tree at the corner and when I reached it I started carefully circling it. that’s when I got a beautiful 90-96 signal on my ATP (with a 5x8 coil). Now a 90s signal is often merely rusty iron but something told me this was different. And about 4 inches down came a ‘36 Walker. But before I filled the hole I scanned it again and an 83 signal popped up. A couple inches away from where the Walker was found a ‘23 Mercury came to the surface.
Hallelujah!
