Area I am working is a time capsule from the 1930-1940's. Found along an old road that is long gone, no traffic for 50 years at least. Thinking something related to a light cover for a tractor, car, motorcycle. But Nothing is surfacing. Note: orage ball is glass, and shows some chips on the surface of the ball. Will continue to dig. Thanks for the ideas so far.

Switched pictures to another host. Using google photos. Sorry about that.

This is the "Thing" sitting on top of my flashlight. @ 1.25" in diameter

If it's only open on one side (lamp shield), then I think it could be a license lamp too. Odd that it's orange instead of clear.

Hmmm don't know, can't view photos not even by going to browser.

No pic from here either. :(

EDIT: Pics showing now.
Looks like some kind of pilot light cover to some piece of (electrical) equipment. Odd color though, and that lense (if you can call it that) is kinda strange. :?::shock:

I was finally able to click on the long set of letters and symbols and see the images. I still don't know much but it looks like an amber globe sitting in site an open topped socket deal and the outer housing on the opposite end has a couple of bosses on the outside near the bottom where you could push the whole thing into a female receptor and give it maybe a quarter turn twist to lock it in place. So some sort of caution light apparatus maybe. Not sure.
