I'm a 2-3 year detectorist at age 70, using a White's DFX. I wanted a way to "cut the cord" (no headphones and no "noise pollution") by using my hearing aid bluetooth function. I looked around a lot for a bluetooth transmitter that might do the job with the detector's 1/4" earphone jack, and picked up this: "1Mii Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver for TV to Wireless Headphones.." on Amazon, about $30.
I charged the device, followed the pairing directions for the hearing aids, and it works! Long rechargeable battery life, too. I support/protect the transmitter in an old nylon corded bag while hunting.
Just be aware the White's startup tone comes through quite loud, and there is a minimum audio threshold, too. Until I adjusted the volume on the aids, I thought I was back at a Who concert from the early 1970's...
But I field tested it, and don't miss the earphones (AZ heat) or the cord (self explanatory). Now I can hunt for Coronado's Gold in comfort..
