I have been pretty busy this past month with a first responder class 3 nights a week from 6-10 pm. In addition to Fire Dept. training and running 2-8 calls everyday, it doesn't leave a lot of time for detecting. And the ground was solid ice for all of January. Anyway I finally had a good window with soft ground and 63° for a high temp. It rained for almost 3 days solid and rained the entire time I was detecting. I went to a home site I found last year that actually is a public hiking trail. I found the actual home site by wandering around and it took about 8 trips to get a rough idea of where the house was. I could not find this place on any maps of the area so I was just guessing until I found an aerial photo of the house last month. I tried a new spot off to one side of the trail and it seems that the trail runs right through where the house was. I should also add that this place is almost a jungle of poison ivy and thorny bushes and trees in the Summer.
On the the finds for Feb. 20th:
I found the St. Mary medallion first, then the first pocket watch, then the gold heart, then the second pocket watch. I decided to head back at that point, because I had about 10 pounds of mud on my gloves and pants. And I want to be able to go back and pull more out.
P.S what is the round object with the twisted arrow?
