Model 1853 Enfield

Went to a spot today where I have found a few eagle buttons and the trigger guard and cylinder to a colt model 1849 pocket pistol. Got a good signal and this popped up only about 4in down. A lock plate and hammer to a model 1853 Enfield. civil war era? third picture is an Enfield off the internet.

That’s a great find! I’d say CW for sure, based on site and other relics found. I believe both sides used Enfield rifles
