I have found three military buttons that are Civil War Era on three separate isolated farms.
All within a couple miles of my home where no major Battles or action took place but there were union camps in the area. I do know much foraging and small skirmish’s took place nearby.
While researching this I found a great article about this type of find and some possible explanations. It was well written and gives much CW button info.
Hope you find useful,
Charles

My buttons below:
1. Confederate Script I
2. Eagle Infrantry Button by Steel and Johnson
3. Flat button with ‘Warranted Rich Orange” back stamp Mid 1800’s but widely used by confederates
