Found this button last weekend and I can't seem to find any info on the manufacturer. To my eyes it reads D.C & Co Double Gilt. Just trying to figure out the approximate date of manufacture. Any help would be great, and thanks for looking.

Standard 1800s flat button. Someone might have a book with the name, but from what I've always found so many different people made so many flat buttons there's not much catalog history to them. Still love finding them though!

Mr. Whipple,

I have a few of these D.C. & Co., they all look just about the same, they were all found in early contexts. Since they are the early A-shank type in construction, all of the ones I have seen pre-date 1820. They are definitely English made. all the ones i have seen reported are on the east coast.
