Civil War bullet

I almost forgot to post my best find. I found this bullet along side my backyard sidewalk. It was only 2 inches deep, I was super psyched to find it. There was a civil war staging area not far from my house, just a few blocks.

That's an interesting round! It looks a bit different than many of the more common 3-ringers that have been recovered around here in Chattanooga,TN.

Agreed. The skirt looks abnomally thick.....which might explain why it was thrown down and not fired (it lacks rifling marks).
 
That's a nice CW bullet. Congrats on a great find. Those are my second favorite things to find next to silver coins.
 
I'll agree, goes look like some Sharps rounds I have seen. Do some research on Civil War bullet, there aren't one or two kinds, there are hundreds.
