Hope everyone is having a great new year. I took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and got my first two silvers of the year yesterday and today. Both days were water hunts at different locations. Found my first 2 reales in the form of a 1698 cob yesterday and today I got my first capped bust half dime.

Not sure one could do much better for an opening coin of the year with either one, much less both of them.

So let me get this straight : You've only got 2 silver coins so far this year, yet ..... one is a cob, and the other is a bust ?? You couldn't settle for mercs, barbers, or seateds ?? Sick sick sick :sissyfight:

OUTFRIGGINSTANDING ! What a start, I hope this sets the course for your year. I t would be phenomenal. Good luck. Mark

Yep, also a bar that 99% of us will NEVER reach  excellent start to the year toasted, congrats!

99.9999%

Awesome finds!

The 2 reales cob is certainly a coin you probably wont see again anytime soon. I had to dig 17 cobs to finally get a big 2. Capped bust, on the other hand, seem to be a relatively more common as they are posted somewhat often. Though I havent had much luck with them
