Spent just a short while and found one. Not up good enough for serious hunting yet.
I've been interested in foraging for morels for years. I love mushrooms. Even though I've spent plenty of time reading about them and what to look out for to avoid getting poisoned, I'd still prefer to go out with an experienced guide.
If unsure, better to be safe than sorry.
When I see the examples of the mushrooms that can be confused with morels I always think the differences are pretty obvious. But, I guess there are some morels in the wild that aren't so textbook, so sticking with the "textbook" morels seems like a good strategy.
Ever had Giant puffballs? You’ll know when you see!
Then you’ve never tried them sliced and fried with pure maple syrup poured over them...neither have I...Nasty! Morels are great though.
