I'm trying to find the best way to clean about 7 or 8 V and buffalo nickels that I cleaned with dish soap but now they turned red?

I like goes4ever's brillo pad method. (patent pending)

I have a length of 2 x 4 that I have some nails with thick heads spaced in a circle big enough to hold the nickel while I work them with steel wool, brass, steel brushes etc.

SOS pads work great for me. Just get it wet and soapy then gently go over the coin till you get the desired results.

I have had good luck with the SOS pads as well, but haven't found a V to try it on yet :)

Wow, those turned out very nice! How long did it take you to get to that from what we saw you started with?
