LiON Batteries for V4 Time Ranger?

I have a V4 Time Ranger that I want to begin using rechargeable batteries in. It takes two 9V batteries. Many used to use NiMH batteries with good success. I am looking into LiON batteries. Does anyone here have experience with LiON batteries in the Time Ranger?

I use them in my land star. They seem to work a lot better than the nimh batteries. Next on the list is making an AA battery pack pair. And then making a dual output buck/boost battery.
