Hello, I came across the following symbol on an old map. Can someone tell me what it might stand for? I haven't seen this one yet.

"C.B"

Hm, interesting, not sure that solves anything. So while the 'C.B' doesn't always show up, that little jagged symbol does more often. . .

This is from an 1876 map. Is this maybe a wall of some kind?

Hm. . . I found this on the Historic Aerials website, it's a possibility. Not 100% exactly the same thing, but awful close:

Ok, I found it, I think for sure now. . . it shows (for german map makers) that symbol is for a quarry:

Is there a culvert there or maybe a bridge? I wonder if the "cement block construction" someone above mentioned would help back that.

Haven't been there yet, but from what I understand it is all hilly, wooded area. A lot of mining was done in the area. But we'll keep all of that in mind if/when I ever get there.
