I recovered this really cool trade token tonight. I googled De Lamar Nevada and it was a town created in the late 1800s related to gold mining. It burned down in the very early 1900s and evidently never recovered. I can't imagine there are many of this token out there. I love how it has "GOOD FOR A (then a picture of a horse bit) IN TRADE" I bet that means 12 1/2 cents. If anyone has any information or potential value, I'd love to know.

**UPDATED WITH CLEANED PICS**

**Evidently, this token is quite sought after. I've had offers as high as $450.00! I'm keeping it for now**

I am sorry about the Dray comment. I was mistaken, but drays were teamster that fairy lumber and goods with there wagons for a price.

One bit or 12 1/2 cents token, I would put the price around 250$

Thanks! When I researched the town's history, I thought it might be worth a couple hundred. I did find reference to it in a Nevada Token Catalog and price guide. Said there were 2 cataloged examples and listed for $50 back in 1990. I absolutely love it. I'm having it cleaned and toned right now.

The most interesting token I have seen posted on here. I know someone who would love to have that. Congrats.

Thanks. I had a feeling it was something special when I saw the script and the picture on it. De Lamar Nevada has a really interesting history. I googled the name on the token (Mandich) and found a court document about how he ran off to Salt Lake City with stolen gold from De Lamar. I'll post some pictures of the token cleaned, once I get it back from the coin shop.

I've updated the post with cleaned pictures.

Wow that thing cleaned up nice! Looks like it was made yesterday! Congrats again...I hope it turns out to be super rare and maybe worth a lot.

Beautiful find! You said you had it cleaned? I've got a couple that need further cleaning and wondering what to try cleaning them with besides water and a little Dawn... they need more.

My local coin shop cleans tokens for me for 5 bucks. Not sure what they use. They call it cleaning and toning. With tokens, the value is in the rarity rather than if it has been cleaned or not. I think they strip the dirt off and then apply something that puts color in the non-raised areas. Check with your local coin shop. If you have coins, its a different story.
