ALLMAN BROTHERS MEMORABILIA?

Last Sunday, the church I grew up in, Riverside Avenue Christian Church in Riverside, had our centennial celebration. 100 years.

As we exited, I noticed they were digging up the sidewalk across the street. A few days later I returned to scan where the pavers had been removed.

In front of the house directly across the street was a marker. I had seen it there for several years but never ventured over to read it. But that day I stood in front of it and learned that house was where, in 1969, the legendary rock band, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS, had first gathered and started their journey to Rock stardom. I remembered hearing loud Rock music coming from the street back then. I was a senior in High School at the time.

This was exciting. I was a fan of their music and I wondered if any of the band had dropped anything interesting during their time there.

Well, I did find some relics that I believe may have been theirs. Who knows? Maybe Greg Allman’s DNA or fingerprints may still be on these.

Well heck, they must have played and romped all over my CW sites here in Atlanta because I find stuff just like that everywhere. Actually they did play in Atlanta where I hunt. A free concert back in the 70's at Piedmont park.

Great band among many great bands this country has produced. Too many to count. Don't want to leave out our British cousins, they where not too shabby either in the Rock Band department.
