The round one is a ladies dress button from the later half of the 1800's since it is two piece, know as the golden age of buttons.
I have found a few of these and seems they were simply polished brass.

The other one looks to be one piece with a soldered on ring. The back marks are important to fix a date but could be mid to later 1800's.

Both are good finds and I also like finding old buttons.

Thanks

As said unless it is military , I’m at a loss when it comes to buttons. The flat button was a random find in a creek . The ball type button I found on a local farm. Thanks again!

The ball button i’d call it a Zouave / Cadet button

Wow, wow, wow.
Thanks for that ID and link.
As I posted above I have found a few of these at an old farm site and assumed they were dress buttons (the family that lived there in the 1800's had five daughters).
However, one son, George, was US Army post civil war and I did find an officer's coat button dated post civil war.

I need to research George some more to see if he went to military school and was a cadet.
